    10 yo started her period

Well that is the simple part of it. My daughter started her period today which was a bit sudden because she didn't start developing breasts until 7 months ago. We have a male primary physician who doesn't do women's health exams. Do I need start finding an opening now with a doctor who does, or still wait until the "13 years old" recommendation? We hardly even get her assigned physician anymore because the doctors share patients now, so even getting the primary is luck of the draw.

There is absolutely no rush for her to see a doctor. Why not take her to see your gyn when she's between 13 and 15 as generally recommended?

My past history is unfortunately raised by a father whom wouldn't take me to a doctor ever, even when I didn't start period until after 16yo, before internet was accessible to me to know I should have seen one. The recommended part are from the articles I've read say average periods start 12-14, and OBGYN visits around 13-15, but not really a "X years after starting periods girls should start having womens wellness checkups". She's already not wanting to tell her dad so I don't think her going to her primary physician for her regular checkups are going to go over well.

Hi Again, so why not ask a gyn, best if its a women, so say the first and second visits are just talking about young women and problems ahead, and be shown things she will use and why.
