Trying to lose weight... nothing is working

Hey there. I'm trying to lose a good amount of weight, I'm 5"1 and 195lbs. I've tried dieting, tried exercise (which is difficult as I am physically disabled by an unrelated condition), neither had any effect. I even tried eating nothing but crackers and lettuce for a whole week, with portions that wouldn't keep a mouse full, and still nothing. Its like the weight is completely stuck. It varies day to day from about 195~200 but never below 195. This has been an ongoing battle and I'm so tired of it. What else can I do??? Are there any weight loss pills that actually work or are they all fake? Can an 18 year old get some form of surgery for this? What on earth do I do? :(

RE: Trying to lose weight... nothing is working

You can try natural detoxification and cleansing on your system.

Not eating, eating too less and eating only one kind of food is not going to help. Since too much physical exercise is not an option for you, you need something that is permanent and has no side effects.

Most of the diets like Keto, GM etc last only till you do it, but the weight comes back as soon as you start eating normally.

You cannot diet all your life, hence I strongly suggest that you get in touch with a good natural specialist who can understand your daily routine in terms of your physical exertion, your lifestyle, age etc and suggest a weight loss plan accordingly. Locally produced food is going to work the best for your weight reduction. Hence understanding your lifestyle is of utmost importance for any practitioner.

Give me a shout if I can help you further.

P.S. You are not overly obese given your weight, you only need the right guidance.

: Thank you for the helpful answer!! I thought about seeing a specialist but felt like they would just tell me the same thing, eat less and exercise more. I didn't know they tailored it like that. I'll see if i can give it a shot, thank you!!

Yes, my specialist has given me breathing techniques which has helped me set right my metabolism, locally produced food to be eaten as much as I like, Sitting and standing exercise which tone my body and muscles and a fantastic regimen.

I am in the US but all the consultation has happened over phone calls and Skype, I am so happy with it.

Passing on the contact, just in case: https://www.incrediblezindagi.com/

        I wish you the best

Me too! Im 5"3 and 180 and I'm sooo tired of it. I work out 4 times a week and my moms a dietician and I eat SO well and nothing works

I can understand, there are times our metabolism does not respond to what we are doing, there are ways to tweak our efforts and get the weight to start dropping. You could really refer to my specialist, they are not dietitians but actual natural consultants. They have helped me a great deal.

Sounds like you may not be eating enough (vs eating too much). Your body won't respond well to not having enough nourishment. I highly recommend the Weight Watchers program, which encourages eating well. I know the program costs money, but you can search on the web for info that people post. fitnesspal.com also provides a nice (free) way to track food.

BTW: I am using the WW program to lose weight. My husband and daughter use Fitnesspal. We have all been successful at losing weight. Just two different approaches.

RE: Trying to lose weight... nothing is working

I had the same issues. I tried all kinds of diets, they worked but I gained all the weight back. I finally found a program that is NOT a diet but a lifestyle change. You get a health coach and a community of support that is second to none. I have now lost 58 pounds in 6 months and have never felt better. No more sleep apnea, or high blood pressure. I am able to run around with my grandkids again. Please get in touch with me, my email is lmurphy411@yahoo.com

RE: Trying to lose weight... nothing is working

Pills aren't the answer, trust me. I tried every drug out there (many illegal!) and ended up worse than before. I had to have a complete attitude change before I could change my habits.

First, I looked at how and when I ate. Many times I was eating because Of stress or because I needed to "fill the hole" even after I was full.

Second, I realized that by eating quickly and not chewing thoroughly was not giving my stomach enough time to signal my brain that I was full.

Third, I was eating more at night than during the day.

And four, anything that said "diet" was a set-up. Diets made me obsess
    MORE about food!

I began to change my habits first:
*No eating in my car (huge for me...I have a long commute)

*As was suggested, read all you can about managing weight that's not promoting a specific diet

*Slowly ease sugar out of your life. This is hard because most processed foods have some sort of sugar in them. Look for healthier glucose, not fructose or sucrose in ingredients. Remember, sugar is like crack! Once you start it's so hard not to want more!

*Stay away from the scale! It's a false prophet! We gain and lose weight all day for whatever reason. Weighing yourself sets you up for disappointment.

*Don't compare yourself to others. Everyone has different metabolisms and genetic make-ups. At 5'2" I'll never be a super model and will never have the thighs I want! And that's Okay!

*Dress for fun! I don't care what my weight is, I always dress in flowy, brightly patterned outfits. It makes me feel fun!

Have you heard of the Cabbage Soup Diet? Well, it works. The recipe I use is on Allrecipes - search for Cabbage Fat Burning Soup. Trust me when I say you only want to make a 1/2 order because of the quantity. To make it easier buy a 16 oz bag of ready made prepackaged coleslaw to avoid the head of cabbage. I also add a 12 oz beef sausage to mine to add some protein and make it a bit tastier. I also add a can of Gargbonzos for protein and texture. Also, you want to spice this up a lot for taste reasons. You can google spice suggestions for the cabbage fat-burning soup. I use Turmeric, Oregano, cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne, Corriander, pepper, salt, and Cumin. Give this a try for a week and you will be pleased with the result plus you can pretty much eat as much as you want. I encourage you to Google: Catherine Cabbage Soup Diet for background, spices, how to use the diet etc.
    Good Luck!

Look into G-Plans(put together by a nutritionist...same one most stars use, like those portraying Marvel superheroes)...Or even NOOM...they are apps on mobile devices...help keep you accountable and give you a better insight on the foods you're eating and if they are healthy or not...Also look into TruVision!(I sell this, but just research it!!!!) it's all natural and TruFix is safe for Children to take!(it balances your blood chemistry)...
