    Upset and weight loss

I went to the doctor today for other reasons, but mainly my blood pressure. So recently after losing weight my blood pressure dropped to 99/61 after I ended up with an terrible headache. I was on hydrochlorothiazide 25mg, but because I have changed my diet and not consuming much salt at all I begin monitoring my bp after that day. I waited a month to get in and discuss my blood pressure and I overheard the doctor telling the nurse that I would have to return to discuss my meds. I haven't taken the meds since December 2017 and was only trying to make sure I would be o.k NOT continuing the meds since I've lost weight and am continuing to lose.

It's sad that I already felt that the Doctor wouldn't want me off the meds, but to be shoved to the side like it wasn't important is SAD. Guess I should research this......?

    RE: Upset and weight loss

You need a new Doctor. You need a doctor you can talk to and discuss your health care. Health care is not just for him to decide it is a joint effort. Ask around and see who your friends recommend and truly like, ask them what they like about their doctor. Ask and ask and ask once you find one that sounds like someone you would like make an appointment and go see her.
I would not ever see a Doctor that tells his assistant (usually not even close to an RN.) something he won't discuss with you.

    Anonymous,
You lost the weight because you stop taking your medication. If you are feeling better after you stop taking your medication don't take anymore and find yourself another doctor, because the one you have now is not for your best interests.
