    Labile blood pressure

    I am an anxious person.
When I measure my blood pressure, the first and maybe the second readings are high - like 159/74 or 147/72. Then, as I repeat testing, it continues to drop - sometimes to 111/55.
I have heard that this lability is unsafe, putting me at risk for a stroke. My internist disagrees.
    What do you think?
I am not overweight, but am prediabetic.
    Thank you.

    RE: Labile blood pressure

On my blood pressure cuff's instructions, it tells me to sit quietly for 5 minutes, not talking or moving, before taking my blood pressure. Could this be the reason for your pressure going down as time passes?
