    Kidney pain after quitting smoking

I'm 6+ weeks smoke free after a 25 year cigarette habit, chewing 2mg nicotine gum once or twice a day to keep the jones off. So far, so good. I'm eating well, excercising regularly, and staying hydrated, but this week I'm getting severe kidney pain, which I've noticed before in previous, less successful quitting attempts. When I've experienced this in the past, I've had ultrasound scans performed to check for kidney stones or other obvious damage, with negative results. Anyone....

    Smoking Relapse

I was raised in a family of smokers. My parents, my siblings and now my son, nieces and nephews. My parents are gone now and a few years ago my siblings quit smoking. I finally jumped on the bandwagon but during the Christmas holiday I relapsed. I've been smoking 2-3 cigarettes a day and I know its only a matter of time that I will be back at it. I'm so disappointed in myself and really thought I would make it this time. What has worked for others during a relapse? I want to get back on the....

    An exSmoker shares two secrets

Tapering off smoking is like behind kind to your cat by cutting a half inch off his tail daily until he is tail-less. Better to just whack it off. Conversely, better to go cold turkey. Once you quit, remember the mantra: "you're only ONE DRAg away from ___ cigs a day." Fill in your personal typical amount. I was three packs a day. Now I am none for a couple of decades. I remain, however, *one drag away from thee packs a day*.

    Quit again 4 days ago.

Hi, I’m glad WebMD has this stop smoking message board for me to lean on and to have a place to be accountable and to go to when I need to talk through this. I had stopped smoking before for about 10 years but fighting for my daughter (still fighting) in a horrible still ongoing custody battle with an Alienating Parent that has Alienated my daughter from me 7-1/2 years ago ended up with me reaching for my drug fix of nicotine/cigarette after not seeing my daughter at month 7 and of course it got....

Addicted to smoking, my health depends on me quitting

Hi, I am glad I found this support page. I have heart disease, COPD with severe asthma, osteoporosis, and several other health issues that are all critical reasons why I need to quit smoking. I have tried e-cigs, vapes, Chantix, patches, antidepressant's, gum, lozenges, candy, eating, walking, exercising, yoga, support meetings, you name it, I've probably already tried it. Nothing helps, and several of the above mentioned attempts didn't agree with my stomach or my being prevented from....

    Addicted to Nicotine Lozenges

Hello, My husband is addicted to Nicotine Lozenges. He has never smoked but a friend of his at work started chewing Nicorette years ago and he would chew a few here and there and now years later he is addicted to the lozenges (the gum makes him feel sick). It's costing a fortune for this habit as he has 2 tablets in his month ALL DAY! I have done all the research I can do make him aware that its not healthy long term. He has high blood pressure already. He wants to stop but cannot do it. Does....
