  • Kidney pain after quitting smoking

I'm 6+ weeks smoke free after a 25 year cigarette habit, chewing 2mg nicotine gum once or twice a day to keep the jones off. So far, so good. I'm eating well, excercising regularly, and staying hydrated, but this week I'm getting severe kidney pain, which I've noticed before in previous, less successful quitting attempts. When I've experienced this in the past, I've had ultrasound scans performed to check for kidney stones or other obvious damage, with negative results. Anyone....

16 year old teen - I made a bad decision and I am trying to fix it. Please help me.

Hey guys, (sorry for the bad grammar, I don't live in USA) I started smoking cigarettes when I was a freshmen, and moved on to vaping after finishing the first semester of soph. I thought that smoking cigarettes were okay, since I continued maintain perfect scores. I also thought that smoking cigarettes made me look though compared to other students. But now, as a junior, I learned that smoking cigarettes underaged makes me look ignorant, and I learned that the hard way. I am now dependent on....

Addicted to smoking, my health depends on me quitting

Hi, I am glad I found this support page. I have heart disease, COPD with severe asthma, osteoporosis, and several other health issues that are all critical reasons why I need to quit smoking. I have tried e-cigs, vapes, Chantix, patches, antidepressant's, gum, lozenges, candy, eating, walking, exercising, yoga, support meetings, you name it, I've probably already tried it. Nothing helps, and several of the above mentioned attempts didn't agree with my stomach or my being prevented from....

    Constipation after quitting smoking

I have been trying to quit smoking for approx 6 months, and have been able to deal with withdrawal symptoms fairly easily however cigarettes had always made me need the toilet and without them I become constipated and so have relapsed due to the discomfort after 3 weeks of not smoking in which time my bowel movements were around once a week and usually did not provide much relief. Are there any aids that could assist me or will this just have to resolve itself over time? Until I can have regular....

Not my first time trying to quit, but I believe I'm ready now

Hi everyone! I guess this is an introductory post if that's alright. I've been smoking for 20 years (with a few breaks and a few times cutting down as much as I could, still feeling a bit guilty and hopeless about these failures) and am now trying one more time with the patch, lozenges, and ecigs. Cold turkey turned me into a monster, and I am now trying to come up with the best combination of things which have worked the longest for me. I don't really have much support in my real life....

    Hospital week free

I had been on Chantix before coming in for double pneumonia. The Chantix was helping so much and I was down to 13 cigarettes a day after only 3 weeks. I felt fantastic which is not always the case with everyone. Bad side effects are assigned to get off it immediately. After smoking for 34 years I will do anything it takes. Any of these e-cigarettes or others a garbage and still have nicotine. They are to be thrown away just like cigarettes. My daughter has seen my lung X-ray and my hands from IVs....
