    This is it

I have been wanting to quit for a while and I know that smoking doesn’t help my chronic pancreatitis or wrinkles on my face. Sometimes I don’t even want a cigarette and it tastes awful but I still light up. What is wrong with me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Smoking Relapse

I was raised in a family of smokers. My parents, my siblings and now my son, nieces and nephews. My parents are gone now and a few years ago my siblings quit smoking. I finally jumped on the bandwagon but during the Christmas holiday I relapsed. I've been smoking 2-3 cigarettes a day and I know its only a matter of time that I will be back at it. I'm so disappointed in myself and really thought I would make it this time. What has worked for others during a relapse? I want to get back on the....

    An exSmoker shares two secrets

Tapering off smoking is like behind kind to your cat by cutting a half inch off his tail daily until he is tail-less. Better to just whack it off. Conversely, better to go cold turkey. Once you quit, remember the mantra: "you're only ONE DRAg away from ___ cigs a day." Fill in your personal typical amount. I was three packs a day. Now I am none for a couple of decades. I remain, however, *one drag away from thee packs a day*.

What is happening to my voice?

I am 25 years old male. Recently I've been having problems with my voice. My voice tends to squeak and creak and sometimes just disappear when I'm out of breath, tired, or in a stressful situation i.e angry or upset or nervous. This has started happening only recently making it very difficult for me to communicate. For a long period of time i thought it was a bad throat but the problem continues. I do smoke but not a lot, the frequency is around 3-4 each day. Why is this happening? What do....

Daily weed smoker, cough with no other symptoms for 3 months... What is it?

For about 3 years I’ve been smoking weed about once or twice a day from a joint or bong. I never smoke tobacco/blunts, or nicotine vapes. I’m 17 years old, pretty active, and generally healthy. 3 months ago, I got a normal cold, followed by a dry cough. After a couple weeks I began to cough exessive amounts of clear phlegm. Once or twice, there was a little blood in the phlegm. Sometimes, I can’t breath when I cough. I went to the doctor, they said my lungs were clear and prescribed me with an inhaler....

    Quit smoking 193 days ago

I fell on my concrete driveway at home and fractured my left femur. I had booked a flight to the UK and the Emergency Room Doctor informed me that it would take twice as long for my fracture to heal if I continued to smoke. Defiantly I told the Doctor that I would quit. Using the time in the hospital and the fact that you cannot smoke there, I stopped. Once out of rehab, I tried using a nicotine patch that seemed to irritate the site of my recent surgery. Eleven days out and I decided upon cold turkey....

Not my first time trying to quit, but I believe I'm ready now

Hi everyone! I guess this is an introductory post if that's alright. I've been smoking for 20 years (with a few breaks and a few times cutting down as much as I could, still feeling a bit guilty and hopeless about these failures) and am now trying one more time with the patch, lozenges, and ecigs. Cold turkey turned me into a monster, and I am now trying to come up with the best combination of things which have worked the longest for me. I don't really have much support in my real life....

    Quit for 11 years!

Hello everyone! I have been quit for 11+ years and I have never felt more amazing. I just wanted to get on here to let all of you know that there is a light at the end. YOU will get there! I used Wellbutrin and a message board similar to this. Keep up the good work, if you fail just get back on track. You are doing this for YOUR health. I was once where you were. I had to stop visiting people who smoked, being anywhere near any place that allowed smoking. I did this for 3 months!!! You can do it....
