    Vaping worked for me

After several attempts at quitting cold turkey and using the nicotine gum, I did manage to quit for a period of time but the cravings and urge to smoke never went away and I eventually fell back into smoking socially. Through friends I discovered vaping and I have no urge to smoke at all and can for the first time say confidently that I will never smoke again. Vaping has some risks but it causes far less harm than smoking. The great thing is that with vaping I don't have strong urges to vape....

    Just stopped Smoking...

I had stopped smoking in 2004 - had not smoked for 11 years. Then, in 2016, I separated, got divorced, sold a house, moved, two kids in college and starting taking on a bigger role as care giver to elderly mother - in another state so I started smoking AGAIN. I just bought a pack last night - smoked today and realized I HATE SMOKING! Broke the cigarettes, threw them in the trash and threw away my lighter. I joined this message board for support. I don't want to smoke and I need help. Next stop....

My story is almost the same

I lived alone so this was easier. For the first 3 days I felt terrible because of a health issue that scared me. I layed on the sofa and closed my eyes and every 15 minutes considered getting up and driving to 7/11 to buy a pack of cigarettes, opening it and lighting one. I visualized evey action and feeling. The second day and the third were less often. I got up on the forth day and began to act more normally. When I felt an urge to smoke I drank a glass of water or started playing solitare. This....

Need to quit because of health.

Hi, I need to quit smoking. I have bad stomach ulcers. As long as I keep smoking they won't get better. I also have bad anxiety and smoking makes it worse. I have been smoking for 30 years. I tried Chantixs and had really bad side affects. Tried the patch and smoked with the patch on. I really need help with this. Any suggestions.

    Quit smoking 4 months ago

I have quit smoking by using the lozenges. I have read that you sometimes cough more after you quit which was not the case with me, in fact my cough went away within a couple of weeks, however, I still have a lot of mucus and phlegm stuck in my throat 4 months later. It's not as bad as when I first quit but still annoying. Is this due to the cilia functioning again?

    Questions about cigarette breath?

My girlfriend claims that she has quit cigarette since last month, but I still smell it when we kiss, coming from her throat. She's a regular smoker. How come the smell does stay even after a month. How can I detect if she had quit smoking or not. I am not trying to be the mr controlling guy but, I have also tasted cigarettes, though it may take a while before the sensation gets away, but I do not think that the breath will stay for long, like, over a month, especially when you use mouthwash....
