Not my first time trying to quit, but I believe I'm ready now

Hi everyone! I guess this is an introductory post if that's alright. I've been smoking for 20 years (with a few breaks and a few times cutting down as much as I could, still feeling a bit guilty and hopeless about these failures) and am now trying one more time with the patch, lozenges, and ecigs. Cold turkey turned me into a monster, and I am now trying to come up with the best combination of things which have worked the longest for me. I don't really have much support in my real life as not many of my friends have ever really smoked so they don't know what I'm going through, or they aren't ready to quit themselves. I've been given the run around by the 1-800-quit-now people because my phone number is a different area code than the state I live in now. If there's anyone going through similar stages or who would be willing to encourage me a bit I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for reading, and I truly believe we're all so strong for even taking on this terrible addiction. I wish all of you the best. :)

I think you're doing a great job. Being dedicated to quit is the first thing you needed to do and you're doing it. And you're doing it before you ended up in an ICU on a CPAP machine like I did. I had cut down because I was on Chantix which was working great for me unfortunately it wasn't enough soon enough as I already had double pneumonia in both lungs. My hat's off to you and many well wishes and your journey as it is a very bad addiction that is hard to fight. There are some text message services that will send you text messages encouraging you throughout the day with your quit smoking plan as far as offering encouragement if you are craving Etc. It will ask you on your first day if you have smoked and things like that. If I happen to find the info I will definitely forward it to you but I know that it is online and obviously I am in the hospital trying to recuperate but I will send you lots of positive vibrations as I think you are doing a great job especially reaching out for support. I will check this and definitely be here to support you as much as I can. Be the Rockstar you can be!

Girl, we are in the same page, i think it’s time to quit after all these years of smoking, what i did was i went to my Dr and told him i want to quit, but can’t do it on my own, so he prescribed “Chantix”
I reduced the quantity of cigarettes in half right after i began Chantix.
Now what i’m in search of is a coach, this time i’m determined to get rid of this diabolic habit, so if you’re in we can coach each other and kick this habit out!
