    I've tried sooooo many times

I'm 59 and I've been smoking since I was 13. I know I have to stop because I have a hard time breathing sometimes and I know I would feel better. The previous times I lasted about 1 1/2 weeks and the urge comes over me like a storm and I end up smoking again.
I'm going to keep trying but I do wish they had more resources then they do. Nicotine, we're told, is the most addictive chemical there is but yet any drug dependencies (ex: heroin addiction ) seem to get more help then we do. I would at least like to have someone I could text message and say hey help me through this please!

I feel the same way, was in hospital 11 days and could not smoke, got in car and immediately wanted a cigarette. But you are right, drug users are treated better than smokers!

The fact you have decided to quit smoking deserves big respect! I'm about 20 and also trying to give up smoking, so you are not alone.

I understand the frustration. I'm 59 as well and have been smoking since I was 11. I once quit for 16 years so it is possible. All it took was to try a cigarette again and before I knew it I was back to a pack a day. Once you lick the habit never go back. I'm going to quit this time and never go back.
