    My Hair is Falling out

For about the last 6 weeks my hair has started falling out by the handfuls. I have always had constant hair regeneration and some loss but not to the point where it comes out in handfuls like it is now. I had a fall recently and had to take a steroid medication for a bulging disc in my neck. I am wondering if that could have caused the hair loss.

RE: My Hair is Falling out

Hi, I just read you post. I'm having the same problem of late. Did you find any information elsewhere?

I guess this is not atopic that garners much attention. I am experiencing the same. Use no "products" including commercial shampoos or conditioners. I wash in plain water, and rinse in water vinegar. Every 4th or 5th wash I add Dr. Bronner's Castile soap. I would like to know why as well.

I'm trying to reply to amterrie, but when I click on "reply" it takes me to my post. I hope amterrie gets this. Washing your hair in plain water and rinsing w/water vinegar--is that helping your hair from falling out? Thanks for the suggestion.

I believe Biotin. Best Google this to satisfy yourself. Steroids are to beavaoided as best possible. If possible, find an ND, Naturopathic Doctor. Or look for an Integrative minded physician. It is time traditional medicine awakened and smells the Roses.

RE: My Hair is Falling out

This is amterrie. I made major health/nutrition changes late October 2014. I subscribeto and read many different opinions trying to separate reality and money making fantasy.
I now know to read labels, both food and skin preparations. there are many products sold, which are not good for your health. Chemical and Drug companies have such strong Lobby's and so much money, they can and have overpowered the very agencies meant to keep us safe.
I now know that healing is cooperative between the patient and provider. My current medical team had no responsibility within my health reversal. They all now see it, some are not yet ready to accept that it was 100% my nutritional change. My Electronic Medical Health records clearly see the changes in my "numbers" Lab reports from before and after 10/14.
About the impact of plain water instead of shampoo, and the vinegar/water rinse instead of conditioner and hair loss, I cannot answer that. I am in a very stressful situation now and that may impact my hair loss.
When you wash your hair, trying using only water, then run your hair through your fingers and hear the squeal. The water has washed away the residue, whatever it may be. The vinegar/water rinse relieves the tangles. As I mentioned, about once every 5 washes, I will use Castile Soap to wash and then rinse as usual.
I stopped coloring my hair quite some time ago and now it is a cloud of White. Many comment on how full and strong it looks. It is me who sees the hair on my shoulders, in my brush and comb. Next hair cut I will ask my hairdresser.
I am working on my stress and will see if the hair loss reduces if the stress does.
My nutritional change was a 4 month challenge via phone by a chiropractor friend of my grandson. I have never met the man, but I thank him for my life.
Many around me see it and as they congratulate me, say they "can't" do what I did. I suggest they change the "can't" word to "won't" everyone can, but it is only you who can make the choice, familiarity/cultural vs health. I did choose health and for me, it worked. Minus 66 pounds, none gained back and minus at least 6 chronic diseases. I reversed "irreversible" diseases. I am healthier than 20-25 years ago.

Hi, I just saw your reply. Thanks for the details about your hair washing. I'm going to give it a try. Was your nutritional change specifically for you or could others try it--like me? Thanks again!

RE: My Hair is Falling out

It might have been the steroids. The Mayo Clinic website has a lot of info on hair loss. So does this site. Might want to check with your health care practitioner. (I say that instead of doctor b/c sometimes I wonder if western-trained doctors get some of this stuff.)
