    Trouble gaining weight.

I'm a 17 year old male and I have trouble gaining weight.I'm 5'8 and weighing at 100 pounds. Previously I had tried drinking 3 liters of cow's milk with daily meals and I gained about 14 lbs. But I didn't know that I was lactose intolerant and I couldn't try that anymore. Now I'm trying to gain weight again by replacing the cow's milk by soy milk with regular meals. My question is that is it safe to drink 3 liters of soy milk a day? Also the soymilk is made by my mother so it has no additives or anything like that.

    RE: Trouble gaining weight.

youre doing it wrong. heres the answer youre looking for which took me 5 years to figure out. whether you realize it or not, YOURE NOT EATING ENOUGH. lay off the milk. milk isnt going to make you gain weight. i used to weigh 110, thought i was eating the whole word, read how milk is a sure way to gain weight, etc etc. wrong. when i really looked at my diet, i was eating like a mouse. if youre serious about gaining weight, grab a pen and paper and for ONE DAY.. just ONE DAY, write down how many calories you ate. eat a PBJ sandwich? write down 100 cals for the PB, 120 for the bread, and 60 for the jelly. do it for EVERYTHING you eat. i bet youre not eatting more than 3000 calories, and if you are... are you eating crap calories? cookies dont count. candy bars dont count. eat chicken every other day, with a vegetable, fruit for breakfast with egg and bread. lunch, mix it up. you need calories from protein, but you need veggies to process that protein. if youre just drinking milk, one, its bad for you and two, youre lacking the greens to process it. NOW GO DO IT!
