    Found boyfriends results

My boyfriend and I have been together for six months (beginning of march), tonight I found while going through our filing cabinet something I've never seen. I found STD test results from beginning of february.. Something startled me.. HERPES SIMPLEX V. I and II, IgG: Positive.. both one and two. We have had unprotected sex all but the first few times. I have never seen anything on him. I've read so many things about how it can spread without being seen, is that true? I also read females generally don't show any symptoms; so I can only assume after six months of unprotected sex that I have now contracted herpes. Any advice, any light in this situation, ANY or all information, please help. I have not discussed with him (I will in a few days) that I found out yet.. I don't know what to do.

    RE: Found boyfriends results

Hi Yes and No, would be that answer as he would only be contagious when he has outbreaks, and there something that could never happen.

But all you can do it get round your local sexual health/GUM clinic and get tested there and see what comes back.

The next is have you told him what you found?

I plan on bringing it up Saturday when we’re both off of work and can have time to discuss things I guess.

I could’ve swore I read that even without open sore you can still contract the virus? I mean in a span of six months makes me feel like I have a very slim chance that I haven’t gotten it.

You can absolutely get herpes from someone even if they do not have active lesions at the time of contact. The best thing to do at this point is to get yourself tested at your doctor or through an online herpes test service:
