Why has my foreskin been irritated for two months??

The head of my penis has felt irritated for nearly two months to varying degrees. The head of the penis itself, though looked a bit red before (and the area around the tip can look like a patch of dry skin), feels completely fine, while the foreskin is distinctly redder, irritated and seems dry. Also there is periodic mild burning sensation when I urinate that seems to occur at random.

I had unprotected sex in early July and have since had an STI screening for everything except herpes, which my doctor tells me would have become obvious long ago. A second doctor told me it looked like I had balanitis, to which I was given a mild, over the counter cream that alleviated the feelings for a week.

Ever since then, which was well over a month ago, I have still had persistent feeling of on and off irritation. It often feels like the veins in my penis itself are irritated or even swollen, especially one vein on the right of the shaft that loops around the top of my foreskin, goes down the right side of my penis shaft and down a little to my leg, which often feels irritated when I wear certain clothes, like suit pants.

I should mention I have sebopsiorasis as well, which leads my regular doctor to tell me to avoid anything with yeast (which I have been lazy about for a long time), but I have no idea if it is related.

It is honestly not debilitating, nor does it come with any other symptoms (say, fever or whatever) nor stop me from being able to have sex or masturbate, though when I do either in excess the vein on the right shaft of my penis get swollen and irritated. But it is persistent and annoying presence, and makes me wonder if balanitis can even exist for this long or is it a sign of something worse. I am a hypochondriac at the best of times (especially for things like herpes and HIV) but with this amount of time it seems that statistically at least all the more serious things are nothing to worry about, but damned if it doesn't have me confused!

RE: Why has my foreskin been irritated for two months??

Hi Have you been tested for trich, chlamydia or just a simple yeast infection,
the standard medication is metronidazole for all 3.

Keep some kind of oil on your penis virgin olive oil, coconut oil or even just simple baby oil will all help and do a very good job for penis health.

I've been tested for chlamydia- no idea about trich or yeast infection so I'm going to assume no. I went back to the doctor who checked it out and decided to put me on canesten to see if this resolves the problem, so I can either assume that the doctor doesn't see it as anything more serious or a regular GP doesn't have all the answers and I should have just gone to a specific STI clinic (honestly I really have no idea the internet certainly makes me uncertain)

Hi Have you tried coconut oil or virgin olive oil both have been used for skin problem far longer than people think and they do work not just once a day but use them 3 to 4 times a day till its gone.

I just read up about sebopsiorasis, and yeast its a yeast infection then went and found you these 2 links I think the first one will open your eyes.

I suppose I will just have to go back to the GP, as I was given Canesten cream to apply three times a day for two weeks and thus far I don't really see much improvement- in fact I've come to the end of the two weeks now and it looked pretty much the same as always (well that's not entirely fair it seems better but then towards the end seems like normal again). When I do I suppose I'll ask for a test for trich, seen as I am guessing this cream should have had more success for yeast.

RE: Why has my foreskin been irritated for two months??

It sounds more like a yeast infection or Balanitis than an STD. It could potentially be Trich. You can read about its symptoms here: https://www.stdtestexpress.com/trichomoniasis/

Ugh! This sounds like a struggle. Sorry you have to deal with it. I would suggest using a penis health creme daily. I'm uncircumcised and I've had balantis, penile yeast infections, you name it. My hygiene was the issue and I didn't even realize that it was because I wasn't as healthy down there as I could've been so I started using a penis health creme. It's crazy how fast it started working. I'm so much healthier, cleaner and ready to go down there.

To think you could have avoided all those things simply with regular showers ... bleah.

You might want to see a doctor about your foreskin. But as far as your size goes you are all good... right on track. You might want to use a penis health creme though to ensure that your penis is getting the proper amount of vitamins and proteins... this will give it its best chance to reach its full potential. Man1 Man Oil is a great one of these cremes.. you can get it online. Hope this helps.
