Waking up to numbness in hands

Hi there all! I was diagnosed with fibro in 2012. I also have Severe Plantar Fasiitis and heal spurs in my feet. Now I am waking up to numbness in my hands every morning omg not to mention I have slept 10-12 hours the last few days. Not straight through but from around 10-11 at night until noon the next day. As I type this I am laying down and my hands are tingling. By the end of the night I am nearly able to walk because my feet hurt so bad. I have a rheumatologist, regular doc, podiatrist who I feel like just blows me off and a chiro that doesn't seem to help after some time now. I don't know what else to do. I itch a lot and do take gabapentin, meloxicam and Effexor on a daily basis and I am NOT depressed. Anyone have any idea why my feet won't get better, numbing in my hands and erratic sleep. Any advice will help. Thank you so much!!

RE: Waking up to numbness in hands

    Hello.

I am sorry you are going through this.

Have you seen a neurosurgeon or neurologist for the tingling in your hands and feet? Do you have Diabetes and could it be neuropathy? As far as the itching, it sounds like you are allergic to at least one of your medications. You would have to stop taking them one by one to see if the reaction stops.

If your current doctors can not or will not help you, then search for ones that will. We are in charge of our health and need to find doctors that can meet our needs.

I pray you find answers and relief soon.

    Blessings,

RE: Waking up to numbness in hands

Numbness in the hands can be associated with carpal tunnel syndrome or another neurologic deficit. Ask your primary doctor if an EMG would be needed. It is a test to evaluate your nerves. Its best to see a physician to get an accurate diagnosis. Very sorry for your pain, but best of luck with your future health.
