    Swelling near my tooth

I was having swelling near my tooth for last two weeks. I tried using clove oil. But the pain was not reducing. Now the swelling have spread to other areas of the face and neck. When I spoke with my friend she told me that it will because my damaged pulp. She told me that when pulp is damaged, it breaks down, and bacteria begin to multiply within the pulp chamber. The bacteria and other dying pulp remnants can cause an infection or abscessed tooth. An abscess is a pus-filled pocket that forms at the end of a tooth’s root. It is causing the pain and swelling. She told me to undergo root canal therapy ( https://www.lakeridgedental.ca/services/root-canal-therapy/ ) from a clinic in Brampton. Is that only solution for the infected pulp? Is there any antibiotics I can use for the same?
