    RE: alone with depression

    Hi Macita,

I'm sorry that you are feeling so depressed and alone.

You said that meds are ok but not everything - and you are so right about that. Meds alone are not enough as treatment for depression or other mental illnesses. Medication can only do so much, but it can't teach you new coping skills, it can't teach you tools to be able to function better and happier in this life; meds can't make the behavioral changes that are needed to get a grip over depression.

The thing that is so crucial in treatment besides meds (when needed) is therapy. If you have a good therapist, he/she will be able to help work with to make the changes and healing that you need - lifelong skills!

Of course, you (me) have to do the work. We can't just go to therapy and expect for things to get better. We have to DO what we are learning. It's not easy and it takes time, but if you want true and lasting help and the ability to use the new tools you learn in therapy, it's well worth it!

I would highly recommend that you find a therapist you can work with and get busy! You deserve to be living a bettter life filled with hope and joy and not dictated to by depression!

    You can do it!

    Debbie
