My husband is hallucinating that i am masturbating while i am wide awake, and asleep

For about 2 weeks, my husband has been telling me that i am masturbating when i an not. At first he said it was in my sleep. Saying I was moaning, and "thrusting" for hours. My hands visable around or underneath my pillow, he insists it is still happening. Now, he's accusing me of doing it while im awake, sitting up in bed reading, watching tv even. He says he hears me when he leaves the room. He insists i am doing this to hurt him. I have no problem admitting if i was doing this, however this is not the case. He has a history of alcohol and drug abuse, and abuses ginsing and energy drinks daily therefore having to take sleeping pills nightly as well. This has become an unbearable source of arguments on a nightly basis. I am at my wits end. When he first brought this up (while i am asleep) we googled it, and found sexsomnia. Of course I thought maybe he was on to something. I have made a Drs appointment, however its 6weeks away. But now that he's accusing me of doing it while im awake and conscious, i believe he is delusional.

RE: My husband is hallucinating that i am masturbating while i am wide awake, and asleep

Maybe this will help - tell him the next time he "sees" you masturbating, to take a picture of it and show it to you as proof. Maybe he won't "see" it any longer, huh? Or, if it is indeed happening and you're completely unaware of it, then you could seek some help for it. I'm in NO way insinuating that it's true - I'm saying this as a genuine idea because right now, it's just your word against his, and his could be compromised by whatever, and the only way he could prove it is by taking a picture and showing it to you. What do you think? It is just a thought I had upon reading your post.

    Good luck!

RE: My husband is hallucinating that i am masturbating while i am wide awake, and asleep

I cant believe i found this post. This exact same thing is happening to me. My partner is fully convinced i am masturbating during my sleep or at lease, thrusting, virbrating, moaning and making the bed shake. However, this too happens to me when I am fully awake, hands in full view near my head or on my chest and lying perfectly still- except for the movement of my breathing. We too looked into sexsomnia but with these accusations coming while I am fully awake or in the other room has me questioning that. What did you find out from the sleep therapist and whatever came of this? I'm having such a hard time finding solutions or info.

and I have taken videos of myself sleeping and have no proof for his accusations. what could be the cause of these hallucintions.. if that is what they are?

maybe they're not hallucinations - maybe he's just playing head games.?

Obviously, I don't know him, so just saying that's always a possibility - if not for head games, maybe HE's the issues and truly believes what he's saying even if it's not true.

Maybe I would say to him one last time that he has to prove it to you that what he's saying is true, and that if he can't prove it (to you) then to drop the subject. Ask him what his point is in the whole thing? Be hypothetical and say to him, "So what if I'm masturbating while sleeping, you got a problem with that?" by saying that to him, you take away its power. If he goes on to say that yo do it while awake and you know that you're not, don't give him the satisfaction of arguing with him about it - just let it go - you know your own truth!
