    Dealing with my depression and anxiety

    Hello,
    This is my very first post. I’m a college student and I been for a year been struggling with keeping up with learning and how to enjoy life. I feel like many things can factor why I’m not happy with things are right now. I took a break from school back in August and went back to do a semester of college but only to fall back into depression and anxiety cause I wasn’t attending my classes expect for one but, I feel like the only reason why I’m going because my friend and I have the same class, she’s my motivation to go to class and I know I shouldn’t depend on her. So, I’m failing my classes expect for one and I feel like I should drop the classes I’m falling behind because I’m disorganized with how I’m feeling lately and how chaotic I am. I went to my doctor and I have taken medication and it has work for a while but I lacking on taking them. My feelings are everywhere I’m overthinking on what to do. There is times where I want myself to be disappear or the problems to be gone, ( I don’t mean to make this part sad) I want to go back to what I love to do, which is art because it gives me a place where I feel comfortable and at peace. Sorry if I rant, I do not know how to describe how I been felling lately, thank you to those who took time to read my post.

    You Never want to disappear! I did and almost was. Not fun. I hurt so many people and what I did to myself. I’m still healing 3 years later. Anxiety and depression is so hard to deal with alone. I tried for many years without meds and counseling and it just didn’t work. Trying to find the right medication is aggravating as well. Once you find the right regimen with phyciatry, that overthinking subsides. The wanting to disappear slowly goes away. Once all that chaos and noise calms down I could look at things and smile. You can focus on yourself and what makes you happy like your art. That sounds marvelous! What kind of art? There are so many kinds! Have you thought about tutoring? I sure would hate for you to drop your classes.

        Hello,
        Thank you for replying it made me cry lol. I do all type of art my favorite is painting and drawing with markers and pens. I have gone to tutoring but since it almost close to the end of the semester I probably have to drop. I haven’t paid for my classes yet cause I’m a broke college student, I usually have Financial aid helping with the cost but is put on hold because of my performance and how badly my depression was. I love art and want to become an artist.

    I started having anxiety/depression/ panic attacks in college as well! Medication really does help, keep taking it, I believe in you! The medication helps way more if you take it everyday so that it can build up in your system. I know exactly what you mean about feeling chaotic and not knowing what to do, that's how I feel right now! So I'm trying to help others, I hope that this will help both of us!
