    BP med saving strategy

I have been taking amlodipine besylate 5 mg for some time now. The last time i went to fill the script i realized that the cost for 10 mg is within pennies of the same number of 5 mg tablets so i requested the 10mg with the intent to split them, but the tablets are not easy to split so i am wondering if i can just take the 10mg every other day? I looked up the half life which is 30 to 50 hrs so it seems the end result could be about the same. Any ideas on risks for this strategy?
By the way I am also on Losartan for the same condition (HBP) and my BP is controlled with the 2 meds.

Best to consult with your doctor on the matter. Also, your local pharmacist may/can be helpful too.
