    Blood pressure

Anyone know if ibuprofen or acetiminophen increases blood pressure. Also take folic acid and fish oil for hearth health. I had high blood pressure but take these daily. I'm trying to get it lower to make a few bucks donating plasma. It was 15x/9x and needs to be under 180/90 the clinic said so I was denied during the screening. Any ideas I'm going to stop taking the pain medicine and try couple days later. I usually test 12x/8x. Anyone know a good way to to lower the bottom number?

    RE: Blood pressure

    You asked,

"Anyone know if ibuprofen or acetiminophen increases blood pressure."

Ask your doctor or your pharmacist. In the meantime do a search on both OTC meds to see if there is any valid connection/correlation.

    RE: Blood pressure

Good afternoon. Do ask your pharmacist/doctor first. But I'll share my experience. NAIDS can raise your blood pressure, especially naproxen. I stopped grabbing a Tylenol for every ache, I try alternative options for pain management(hot/cold patches, make resting/relaxation/reflecting a part of your day) The best way to lower your bottom number is to watch that sodium, per my Doc instructions. And it works. Also increase potassium.

    RE: Blood pressure

I've stopped taking otc pain medicine since unless for headache drinking. I was involved in an accident year ago where iburofen became habit forming 3-5 twice daily. I noticed more aches on the medicine 2-4 miles into my 6 mile walk. It seems some of the pain went away that id get during my recovery walks. Back is halved and have couple cans short of six pack some day would feel like my front ribs meat hammered possible lower chest cavity. I've lost 25lb so it is easier on walks. I'm 190lb now so hopefully dropping a little more weight will help with dropping blood pressure. Just a little off topic but still relevant.
