    Fibromyalgia Flare-Up

Hello! I just recently got diagnosed with Fibromyalgia after about two years of dealing with this horrid pain. The burning sensation all over my legs and arms is killing me, it’s safe to say a flare-up is going on. How do you manage flare-ups, please someone with more experience help me. I have not found a single thing that has helped.

    RE: Fibromyalgia Flare-Up

Try soaking in a warm Epsom salt bath. I generally do this 1-3 times a week I like Dr Teals brand that is lavender enriched and comes in a bubble bath form. However any Epsom salt you get from the store, usually in the pharmaceutical section will help the same. Use about 1/2 to 1 cup in. Full bath. Unfortunately, a flare will stay for as long as it wants and there's really not much you can do to speed it along. Rest as much as you can. And ask family or friends for help with chores. I hope this helps a little...

    RE: Fibromyalgia Flare-Up

    Hi there from Canada,
I was diagnosed in 1996 and I've had a fair few number of flares in that time. As hard as it is I have to make myself get up and move -- to a degree. And at the same time balance that with being nice to myself. Lots of rest (no guilt) and maintaining a positive outlook. And hot showers, with a little extra XS Tylenol and Advil. I don't know if this helps, but it's worth a shot.

    RE: Fibromyalgia Flare-Up

As a long time sufferer, 15 years. I can say I've tried a lot of different strategies for dealing with the different and persistent pains you I've had. Last 3months I've used magnesium spray for the burning of my legs and it has helped. Also using ice to calm the burning pain. Research Vitamins and minerals, herbs that can help. Ask ur physician about meds that are for other problems but can be prescribed for the symptoms you are suffering with. Educate yourself as much as possible ,it can help you feel some control with it. Try CBD oil ,check it out. Good luck with your research, I wish you the best. Peace

    RE: Fibromyalgia Flare-Up

I have fybromyalgis as well as many other injuries and as I am finding out slowly auto immune diseases. Honestly though the fybromyalgia flare ups lessened in frequency when I would take Lyrica and alprazolam when it first hits. Showers kill me and I swell everywhere and cannot take baths as I cannot move after or get out. When those two meds were added to my list, I finally saw relief. Good luck....they had me try 3 other meds prior and they were in-effective. See if your Doctor can do ANA Bloodwork to check for auto immune because most of the patients I have met with fybromyalgia also had a type or two or more auto immune diseases. Hope this helps.

    RE: Fibromyalgia Flare-Up

I had it since a child... but i believe it is close to.like German Measles and flu lije symptoms. Joint strain or stress or both caused flare-ups for me.
But in the end i mostly found a blessing in an INFRA RED LAMP!
But follow instructions!!!! A few minutes is all u need in each spot. Then i would repeat it in painful areas.
Infra red glows from wood fires... but it penetrates into soft tissues and you must not let yourself too near or too long. Before bed.... then next morning Sooooo much better. All best
