Squint, cross diplopia after cataract surgery in left eye

My father developed a convergence and double vision issue after cataract surgery in his left eye. Surgery in the right eye had not caused any such problem.
From the past consultations with different eye specialists here, it appears that my father's left eye had a latent issue, which was not identified before the cataract surgery. As a result, the issue came to fore after the surgery and increased over time. So far, my father has had botox injections in both eyes. He has also been advised convergence exercises.
Has anyone faced this problem? If yes, what kind of treatment has been suggested and how has it worked?
What alternatives are there in such a condition?
