    Post colonoscopy pain

I got a colonoscopy yesterday. I'm only 18 but the doctor wanted to rule out any issues do to constant stomach pain. No pollups but he did biopsy an inflamed area. He thinks everything is fine though. Today I woke up with a lot of pain and it's only gotten worse. It's sharp pain in my upper rib cage on both sides and occasionally on my lower sides. I have been extremely tired and weak and haven't had any appetite. It's pains me to walk. Is this normal?

    RE: Post colonoscopy pain

This article says that "after the test, you may have bloating or crampy gas pains and may need to pass some gas. If a biopsy was done or a polyp taken out, you may have traces of blood in your stool for a few days."

It also says to call your doctor right away if you notice any of these symptoms:
    - Have heavy rectal bleeding.
    - Have severe belly pain.
    - Develop a fever.
    - Are very dizzy.
    - Are vomiting.
    - Have a swollen and firm belly.

If you're still having these symptoms, it may be a good idea to give your doctor a call and run them by him to see if they are normal or could be cause for concern.

I hope you're feeling better soon!
