    Vomiting After Eating Meat

My son is 7 years old, active, healthy weight, healthy cognition, etc... When he was about 10 months old I stopped exclusively breastfeeding him and introduced him to solids per usual. We ate a non-processed plant-based diet in his first two years and slowly started introducing animal proteins into his diet after that. He doesn't have any allergies that we are aware of, but every time he eats ANY red meat or poultry, he immediately has stomach pain and he vomits within seconds (no exaggeration). We've tried to introduce meat into his diet little by little thinking maybe his body needs to get used to the proteins? ...and some meats he's fine with. But, literally he could be chewing his food and swallow and he will tell me "I feel it mom" and goes straight to the bathroom. His pediatrician has been aware since it started and brushes it off as sensory-related and tells me he'll grow out of it. BUT WHEN??...

He can have pepperoni, but not sausage anything. He can eat salmon and shrimp, but not tilapia. No beef anything. No chicken - not even organic...

I strongly feel this is related to something deeper and I'm super concerned. Google leaves me with no answers or direction. Please help - I tagged everything below because I have no idea where or who to turn to.

    Thank you

    RE: Vomiting After Eating Meat

Hey this sounds exactly like me as a child, but I’m a mixed bag a bit. I definitely think that sounds like SPD (sensory perception disorder). The only meat I’ll eat is mince meat because the texture is the same throughout and there are no ‘sensory surprises’. Don’t stress, kids don’t have to eat meat these days to be healthy. If you obsess over forcing him, he’ll just end up associating eating with a negitive reaction.
