Best air purifiers for asthma and animal dander, etc

My asthma dr says it would help for me to put an air purifier in my bedroom. I do have allergies to dust and dog dander. The higher the CADR ( clean air delivery rate ) the better. Also a HEPA filter. They are not cheap. My bedroom is about 400 sq feet. Does anyone have any experience with these or knowledge you can share. If I am going to spend this kind of money, I want the best one for me. Thanks. Sheree

RE: Best air purifiers for asthma and animal dander, etc

I have had a few, after expensive filters and having a hard time finding filters I went really researched. I finally found the perfect one for me. I own a Honeywell Pure HEPA Round Air Purifier. Model 50150-N.

Make sure to get the Dash N model. It has a lifetime filter that gets wrapped in a charcoal outer filter. I clean both with a shop vac in the garage.

I had a problem where the plastic base broke after 6-7 years. I made calls and was put in touch with Kaz.com. I had to buy a new one, ($150ish) they shipped it, I put rage busted in box and shipped back. The refunded all but shipping.

The old an new filters had some color change, I was not getting everything out, but I was shocked how well it held up.

Only negatives, noise and light. I cover the dial at night with a wash cloth, it glows bright blue. The noise is considerable. At night I turn it to low and get white noise, in the morning I crank it to clean during the day. I can hear it 3 rooms away.

Great unit, costs very little in filters, I buy 4-5 boxes once a year of the outer filters. Vacuum them a few times and swap them out. Amazon sells some that are twice the size you need, and they are very easy to cut down.

I hope this helps it really did help me.

Rainbow has a great little air purifier that uses water and releases negative ions. I saw it on www.myindoorairquality.com - you should be able to find somebody local I'm sure that sells them. We have the whole system and it works!
