    chicken pox

I read that years ago people died from chicken pox. Why, besides being so contagious, is chicken pox so dangerous. I have a 14 yr. old grandson who has them. Should I be very concerned?

    RE: chicken pox

What a great question! I believe it has a lot to do with the history of diseases a population is exposed to and the immune system. In short, I wouldn't be concerned unless there's a reason their immune system could be compromised.. I remember how uncomfortable they were when I had them, but survived fine.

If you haven't had them yourself, maybe you should keep your distance.

    RE: chicken pox

Hi Adults may have more severe complications and may require hospitalization.
Somthing to start you off, so if you have not had it, keep away, if your grandson is a healthy teenager then he should be OK, if hes a sickly teenager then he will need to looked at extra careful.

But this link below will be of help
