    Can Pseudocyesis be triggered externally

My wife has been showing symptoms of pregnancy, but we know she's not pregnant due to a contraceptive implant, and we are not trying to get pregnant.

She has been dealing with a great deal of stress of late, various medical issues and have reason to believe that the contraceptive device may be defective or have been damaged. Can any or all of these trigger pseudocyesis?

I'm not sure about your questions, but even birth control implants aren't 100% effective. If you've been having sex there is a possibility she could be pregnant. Has she taken a test? I'd start with that and then go from there.

No, but every time we go to the VA, they test her, and she comes back negative every time. What I'm asking is whether or not external factors can trigger pseudocyesis in a woman who shows no signs of the typical symptoms. Recent development also make me wonder if the condition can be a sign or symptom of something else.

What are the symptoms of pregnancy that she's been showing?
