    How to lose weight during Menapause

    I use to be able to lose 5-10 lbs. with no problem in my 20/30's, even 40's. However, once Menapause kicked in I can't seem to lose 1 oz. let alone the 30 lbs. I've gained since age 47. I'm now 54 and really need to lose this weight. I must admit, I don't exercise like I should, but I do eat very well. What gives?

    I'm in the same boat. I had a hysterectomy last November, but my doctor had already told me I was "mostly" in menopause. Since the hysterectomy, I've gained 30 pounds. I cannot make ANY progress. At the end of my rope, I went to the dietician that is in the group of doctors with my ob/gyn. She analyzed my eating and exercising (spotty at best), and reported that my diet was fairly good, I needed to eat more protein and watch the sneaky carbs in dairy and fruit. This has helped. I've lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks. I'm not hungry or hangry. But it's a process and it's still discouraging that I can't lose 3 lbs a week like I did in my 30's. Hang in there!
