Jock Itch (Tinea fungus) on testicles that won't go away

Last year in July I found that my testicle sack was itching more than it should be. I didn't pay attention to it at the time and just itched away whenever it became too bad.

It's worth noting that I was working in construction at the time and was wearing my partner's builder trousers which is probably where I got infected.

In September 2016 I came home and started looking for home remedies online because the condition had become unbearable. I was literally scratching the skin off- it was THAT bad. I couldn't even sleep normally.

So I started using apple-cider vinegar. It burned like hell but provided relief for a few hours afterwards. I used it for two months until I realized it wasn't helping so I bought a cream that had TERBINAFINE in it and used that cream for another month applying it two times per 24 hours.

At first it looked like the terbinafine was working, but after two weeks it felt like the fungus somehow grew resistant to the drug and it started to itch again even while I was using the cream.

I then used Clotrimazole for the same duration. And again after about two-three weeks the fungus seemed to have become immune to the drug.

Finally I went to my doctor and she prescribed a cream called Travocort with the active ingredient Isoconazole. It started off really well and it felt to me like I had finally gotten rid of it until I realized it was exactly the same as with other creams. After about two-three weeks of using it the itching was back, the redness was back and it wouldn't matter if I applied the cream or not- the fungus didn't seem to care.

I am now using Nizoral cream prescribed to me by a dermatologist who sent me to the lab for testing. The tests came back positive for TINEA fungus.

However now I realize even the Nizoral cream isn't working. It's exactly the same thing, I use it for about three weeks and the fungus grows "immune" to the drug.

Can somebody please help me figure this out?? I have been battling this piece of **** for almost a full year now and it's ruining my sex life.

RE: Jock Itch (Tinea fungus) on testicles that won't go away

One more thing I wanted to add is that I have always showered once every 24 hours and I use a pair of clean underwear every 24 hours. I wash the underwear with neutral unscented powder and at 90 degrees celsius (194 fahrenheit). I wash my hands every time I apply the cream and am extra paranoid now after using the toilet so I clean the seats etc.
