    Anal STD or nothing?

3 months since M2M anal incident, which I am 95% sure was protected (was under influence) - occasiaonal anal itchiness, occasional burn after diarrhea. Passing stool has never been painful. No blood. Feel like it's slimy down there from time to time, but I wouldn't consider it 'leaking'. Took 1000 mg of 7 year old Azithtromycin 2 weeks after exposure. Urine tests showed no infections but I don't think they'd show a rectal infection. HIV tests negative at 12 weeks. Is there any chance I have a rectal STD? If I did have an infection would the azithromycin have killed it?

    RE: Anal STD or nothing?

Hi The only thing you can do is ask for a stool sample to be checked out. OK

You are correct; a urine test would not show a rectal infection. And it's likely that a 7 year old dose of antibiotics had long expired in terms of effectiveness. If you remain concerned swab testing for the most common STD/STI's such as chlamydia and gonorrhea might be considered.

Hmm - the nurse practitioner and doctor I saw said that the antibiotics - despite the age - would have likely killed anything I had. Strange.

I guess I was looking more for reassurance that I'd have more symptoms/feel worse if I had something. Right now I feel about 95-98% healthy. The 2-5% difference I think/hope is anxiety-driven.

I should also add I've had intercourse with a woman (monagomous relationship) multiple times in the last 2 months and she's reported no symptoms of anything. Would that be a fair litmus test as well?
