RE: I need support for my depression, ptsd and anxietyi

see if you can find a local support group in your area that you can call and get some names of people who will call you and maybe even come and visit you. Google support groups for ptsd, anxiety, depression in your area. I'm sure they have some.

"Hang-in-there!" I seem to be in the same boat ... I have, well a... ALOT OF EXPERIENCE IN THIS AREA ! !!! 1.) Decide that "feeling" these "feeling's" SUCK !!! Acknowledge it as a "mental HEALTH issue." ("Mental 'ILLNESS' is such a 'stigma' to carry!) SEEK HELP!!! A "good" Dr. is the place to start. (( ALWAYS CHECK OUT THE 'Adictivenees, side effects, & withdrawal symptoms' of any 'Medication' prescribed... (EXPERIENCE!!!). And, don't stop there: I've, sought POSITIVE alternatives on the web, Community Support... TONZ! Anyway, I could 'blather-on;' Any "?'s", free to contact... S.

RE: I need support for my depression, ptsd and anxietyi

Hi. I understand your unease. I have depression, PTSD, anxiety/panic disorder, ADHD, bipolar. I also now have Fibromyalgia. I'm on disability now. It's a constant effort/struggle to manage all this on a daily basis. One thing that has really helped me was going through DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). It is not an easy process but it helped me much more than regular talk therapy which I've gotten most of my life. I'm 49 and I started therapy off and on since middle school but was not diagnosed with all this stuff until the last few years. DBT teaches you skills to manage overwhelming feelings in more positive ways. Takes a lot of practice but well worth it. I utilize the soothing and distracting techniques every day. Has saved me at some points. If interested, you can find a therapist near you who teaches this. And you can also purchase a workbook on this online. God bless! Hope this helps.

"Hey..." Sullie, (can I call you 'Sullie?): Been there; DBT is a 'good' tool.

Remember "MTV?" There was a show w/ David Lee Roth, (used to be lead for 'VanHallen',) called "All Dave! All Night!". Anyway, he once said, "I've been POOR & I've been RICH... I LIKE BEING RICH!" Right now, I'm POOR ... When I lived in Seattle, I was covered. 2 groups a week + individual counseling... I moved to another 'County', wh/, I found out the hard way, is the WORST County in Wa. for "Mental Health Support...". I pay quite a bit out-of-pocket for MED... So I'm still searching for "support"... But still looking :) S.
        P.S. GB too...

Hi. Yep. Sullie is my nickname. I'm not called it much anymore but I love it. I'm sorry that u r having rough time finding groups. I do t like them. Get anxious in them. I'm better one on one. I spend most of my time alone now. I'm usually less a bit less anxious that way. Sad but true. Just went through breakup with boyfriend I think I'm large part bcuz my issues are so intense and demanding at times. But he realized he's a lot of *** to work through himself. To be supportive of each other, you can email me at sullie17@yahoo.com. I'm not a big phone person but probably should be. If u have a decent ability to keep trying and looking forward positively (as much as possible), maybe we could start talking by phone at some point. What's ur name? Mine is Laura

Thnx Sullie; my name is 'Sean', (this includes your last 2 'posts')

You & I seem to have many 'issues' in common... Fibromyalgia & Osteoarthritis, if you compare them, have A LOT in common. So I just go w/ 'Osteoarthritis' for treatment. I too am on 'Disability' & spend much of my time alone; I have 2 "Companion Dogs" to keep me company & 'up' everyday. Jeez',

I don't know if I have some 'Social Phobia,' or if ppl have just become arshol's, (I had way too many ECT's in 2000 & lost some of my memory...). I missed the whole "Video Game Era." [I had to 'grow-up' all over again].

BUT(!) I don't think being 'ALONE' all the time is good either (?). When I was in Seattle, there was plenty to do to 'be' around ppl w/out getting too envolved . I was brought up in the military w/ a very 'prudish' Mum, so I HAD to learn 'manners' under THREAT...

Today... Most ppl seem "plugged-in" & living in a 'Virtual World.' I'm 55... {Don't 'feel' ole' ;( }. I was an Anthropolgy Major & still feel like one because I don't 'understand' our Society (?)

Well, one-day-@-a-time so might as make it 'Positive!' - I, personally, don't have the ability to deal w/ 'negative' vs. 'positive' thoughts @ the same time... Might as well go w/ what makes you 'smile. :)

RE: I need support for my depression, ptsd and anxietyi

hello there. I also live with GAD , PTSD , and bipolar disorder. Please don't feel alone. Everyday is a struggle but you can get threw this if you are takeing your medication on a daily basis and counseling helps a lot. Exspecially if you find the right counselor and doctor.
