RE: Briefly off meds, going back on

I would ask your prescribing doctor because none of us here are qualified to give you medication advice.

Hi there. It's best to reach out to a doctor for the answer to this question.

RE: Briefly off meds, going back on

Worst thing I ever did was to stop taking my medication. After 2 weeks I was a miserable person who no one wanted to be near. My advice to you is go to your prescribing doctor and get back on them, don't stop taking them without you doctors help. You have to wean yourself off. I just went through a change in medicine even that was hard time. If you are like me I hate taking the medication but they are there to help. Good luck hang in there.

RE: Briefly off meds, going back on

    Hi Renee5285,

I am interested to hear how you are doing and did you go to your prescribing doctor to get back on your medication? If you did, how is it going for you so far?

It's fairly common for people to decide on their own to go off their meds for various reasons, and most of them end up regretting it because they are taking meds for a reason, you know?

Why did you decide to stop taking your meds in the first place? Were there side effects that you felt you couldn't tolerate? If so, and you haven't already, maybe you could tell your doctor and then he/she could possibly prescribe you something else that will work for you but not have any intolerable side effects, huh? We don't have to put up with a medication that is going to make us feel bad because of side effects even if the med worked otherwise. We need meds that work for the intended use AND that doesn't have intolerable side-effects (emphasis on the word "intolerable")

I'm hoping that you've talked with your doctor by now and are on the road to recovery. :)

I would be interested to hear from you if you like.

    Debbie
