RE: Trying to conceive after abortion

Talk to your gyno about it. They may recommend getting an ultrasound done to check everything looks ok. Make sure you are trying to conceive as soon as your period ends daily until the 20th day of your cycle to be safe .

RE: Trying to conceive after abortion

I had 2 abortions...one in 2014 & one in 2015...last year (in may 2016) I had a miscarriage. I just found out I am pregnant with twins!! I'm 14 weeks pregnant w the twins...since the miscarriage last yr we haven't used any form of birth control. I'm 37 - turning 38 in October...try not to stress over it, it will happen for you (when you least expect it!) I almost fell off the table when the doctor told me I was having twins! Twins do not run in my family! I'm older than you and had more procedures... and now look at me.

RE: Trying to conceive after abortion

You having trouble conceiving has more to do with your age than your abortions. I don't think your abortions affected your fertility.

RE: Trying to conceive after abortion

I also have had two prior abortions and I am 37 years old and 15 weeks pregnant now. I'll be 38 by the time my baby is born. Chances are good for you considering you did conceive twice before so just relax have a good time with it I know it's easier said than done but the more you relax the easier everything will be.

RE: Trying to conceive after abortion

I had the same issue and I went to a fertility specialist. He told me I had built up scar tissue.. did a d&c and I was pregnant 3 weeks later.

Hi! It's normal to feel worried and confused when trying to conceive! You're not alone.

You could have built up scar tissue from the abortions, or it could be a host of other things. The best thing for you to do is check to see if it's build up in the uterus that can easily be cleared out with a D n C.

In addition, I would focus on eating a whole-food based diet (more foods from the earth and less processed foods), take a whole-food based prenatal vitamin that contains folate, not folic acid (Garden of Life has a good one, so does Detox International), cut out alcohol & cigarettes (if it applies to you) stay hydrated, and practice stress-relieving techniques.

Being relatively older can have an affect on your egg quality, but this is reversible. The three months before you ovulate you can enhance the quality of your eggs by reducing exposure to toxins (plastic, preservatives, pesticides, herbicides, perfumes, etc) and taking supplements like Ubiquinol (a form of co-q10) and myo-insitol.

Acupuncture has great results with balancing the female reproductive system as well. Herbs that can enhance the female reproductive system include Red Raspberry Leaf, Red Clover, Green Tea, Saw Palmetto, and Vitex (amongst many many others).

I would focus on pre-conception 3 months prior to trying to conceive for best results. Your partner should also focus on all the same suggestions because his sperm plays a large role in your conception outcomes.

As always, check with your doctor before starting any supplements.

There are natural ways to enhance your fertility, if you find it is more than just scar tissue. Don't panic. Good luck!
